We had a very enjoyable stay at Bee Hive. Facilities were really good. Not enough big plates or cooking trays but a bit of washing up never hurt anybody! The hot tub was fantastic! Only downside to our stay was the amount of flies.

Absolutely loved our stay at the beehive! It was the perfect place to celebrate our friends 50th Birthday. We found the property to be clean, spacious, really comfortable beds, even the bunk beds! Yes of course there were midges, We were in the middle of stunning countryside, but they werent biters! I loved the wood burning hot tub It was a fun challenge to light but with the opportunity for it to be lit by staff for 10 if required We have all agreed that we cant wait to book again If I could offer constructive feedback, It would be that most places nowadays have basic Condiments that would have helped us at meal times, salt, pepper even though there was a coffee machine, a cafetire would have been great. 4 pods for machine were no good to us coffee drinkers! Would highly recommend here

Great place and ideal for some rest and relaxation with friends. Delicious food at the cafe, and good location for walks in the country. Found the Sykes Cottages website a bit confusing initially, as suggested you could only check in on a Friday, however was able to book from the Thursday. A bit of miscommunication at the start of our trip, as was expecting hot tub to be ready for arrival, however was cold staff member on site suggested we should have had an introductory email from Sykes with useful information on, although did not receive this. Although the listing does state that you need to bring additional wood for hot tub and wood burner, we was expecting to have at least some logs provided in the accommodation there were none. So just be aware you will need to bring your own, as there is no opportunity to buy any onsite. The pictures on the listing were of another cabin, but actually there was more in the cabin then the pictures suggested, e.g. lounge area sofa etc.

Lovely cosy little place and we enjoyed our stay. We were a bit disappointed when we arrived with the cleanliness of the lodge, we had to clean the kitchen with the spray and cloth, the fridge wasnt that clean and the kitchen worktops had dirty finger marks all over it. Also had to move the sofa as something rolled under and it wasnt clean under there either. There were absolutely no instructions for the hot tub. It was lit for us on the 2nd day even though I had a discussion with the owner about getting it lit for us arriving however I think there was crossed wires. The water was scalding hot on the Friday evening and we couldnt use it, by the next morning it was still too hot but getting to the right temperature so we added a log thinking it would keep it warmer all day as we wouldnt be using until that evening. On the last evening of our stay it was fine to use. Having never used a wood fired hot tub before we needed instructions of how to get the right heat at the right time. There was nothing in the lodge on how to operate anything. Despite all of this we loved the lodge and would return, we were going to book the same days again next year for Burghley Horse Trials, that has now been cancelled due to the lodge being double the price next year!

We had a wonderful staycation at The Beehive cabin, The property is much more spacious than the photos suggest we were delighted to find a comfortable sofa, proper dining table, and large flatscreen TV. Everything was wellequipped and the atmosphere was beautifully serene. Our only minor complaint was visiting during a heatwave brought lots of flies, which wasn't ideal and the little park slide and swings were not the best for my almost 3 year old. We would love to see more child friendly facilities. However, the owners were fantastic and made our stay even more special with their great hospitality. Despite the summer fly situation, we loved it so much we're already planning to return in winter. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a quality Rutland staycation.

I recently stopped at the beehive lodge which I booked on a late notice, this cottage did not disappoint. During our stay here Allen was very on the ball and attentive, we was made to feel welcomed. It is somewhere Id definitely revisit.

Lovely stay. Allen was there to help with all our needs. Just a couple of minor things. The small bedroom door handle gets stuck and was stuck in there a few times. Would of liked a bigger settee for us to relax on. Other than these it was just perfect. Thank you

The lodge is pretty much brand new, Really well designed and finished. Warm, comfortable and mostly well equipped. Lots of nice touches. Allen, the owner was very friendly and helpful. We only had 2 minor issues. 1 no oven gloves after a few beers it was risky get things out of the oven! 2 the property was a little but dusty with a few bits on the floor missed by the hoover. Overall, we had a fantastic time and definitely book again
