Oak Lodge Reviews

Debbie
Fantastic lodge, really enjoyed by 3 adults and 3 children. everything was spotless the facilities were superb. loved the swimming and the hot tub, we will come back if possible.
Everything perfect and cabin spotless, the only niggle was that you only get half an hour in the pool free for the whole week. Thereafter it is 16 per half an hour slot, this is not mentioned in the listing and quite honestly think this is a ripoff.
Elizabeth
It was a beautiful lodge in an ideal location. We would highly recommend it.
Very comfortable and cosy lodge with good private hot tub. Swimming pool access an added bonus. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!
This was my four year in a row of staying here. Just love this place and works out so well. 2 hr drive from London. Quiet and secure compound but lovely country walking areas. 15 mins from Rutland Water where all the activities are. It works well for me and mu family plus extended family when we just wanna have a big family get together and end up taking the two large log cabins as we've done last two years
Luxurious, spacious, lovely! ! Had a lovely week away with my family with Hot tub. Cant fault the property and appreciated the wine and chocolate on arrival. Enjoyed the stars because no light pollution. Very peaceful!
Jeremy
The lodge is set in a great location behind the electric gates so felt very safe and secure. The beds were very comfortable and all the lining and towels were immaculate. Unfortunately the place needs some attention!!!! The hot tub was shocking in my opinion as a hot tub owner. The cover was rotten and water logged. Being so heavy both cover brackets had broken and needed 2 people to lift the cover off. The water had not been changed for a while and was very cloudy and smelt. The freezer door had not been shut properly for days so it was completely iced up and unusable. broken blinds in the kitchen and every joint on the guttering outside dripped after 15 mins of rain for days. We booked the communal swimming pool on site for half hour which was about 5 foot deep all over. The water was so cloudy we could not see the bottom so decided not to risk any infections and didnt go in. Lots of good points but not good value for mone
A spacious, well maintained and well equipped lodge.
Had a great relaxing stay, everything you need is there. Very comfortable soft furnishings and beds. Great size hot tub. A beautiful and quiet location with only a short walk through the woods into the village and to the Plough Pub!! We loved the use of the onsite swimming pool and cafe. Have already booked our next stay. Thanks
A fabulous stay in a beautiful lodge.
Second year running at this property to celebrate a birthday and will probably be booking again for next year as lodge meets our requirements to a tee, especially the hot tub on chilly nights with a warm and welcoming lodge to retreat to. Note that the village shop has now closed. The Plough pub is great though, as is the onsite Kitchen.
Sharon
Loved it was a great place to stay. Hot tub didnt stay warm and we moved from a different lodge because that hot tub was broken. Very clean and perfect for a weekend away. Fix hor tubs please
It was a lovely place for us to Spend new years with friends with all modern ovens and microwaves ! The hot tub was perfect size for the 6 of us and we had a great time ! Only downside I would say are the sofas arent that comfortable as they are sofa beds so the cushions slide forwards whilst sitting on them!
Great place to stay with family. Had a lovely time the lodge was well equipped, warm, cosy and just perfect for us! Great area to explore too! Thankyou
Large modern lodge, with comfortable rooms, excellently fitted kitchen and friendly on site staff. Slightly awkward to find, but as a consequence is safe and quiet. Large secluded garden with hot tub and front has plenty of parking for cars. Excellent place for visiting Rutland. On the list for a return visit.
My only two points of feedback are it was tough to operate the heating system. We didn't expect 1st week of Aug 2023 to be so wet and rainy, so needed to get them on and could only manage the hallway. We didn't report it and managed it in the end. The ensutie WC toilet seat was the wrong one fitted. A Dshape seat was fitted on to a round WC pan. Wasn't ideal but again, wasn't the end of the world and we managed.

Its the second time we have stayed in the Lodges and the whole experience is fantastic!
Excellent facilities and equipment, and most helpful and friendly staff.
Perfect all way round. Thank you
The lodge was brilliant great space and had everything we needed for 5 ladies. A great site clean and secure. The lodge was lovely and warm as we arrived on a snowy weekend. We will definitely be back.
The whole family were most impressed with all aspects of the site and accommodation from initial enquiries before our visit right through to checkout. The lodge was extremely well equipped, nice and warm in the chilly weather, as well as being comfortable and homely The hot tub was brilliant even though a bit cosy for 6 adults. The onsite Rutland Kitchen was very well received with a very good menu and reasonably priced. All in all we had a most enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to book again or recommend to friends.
Property was everything we could of wished for. Clean, comfortable had everything we needed. Hot tub was great and was checked each day by staff. Very quiet and private would highly recommend.
We had an excellent, chilled and relaxing week at Oak Lodge. We were greeted warmly on arrival and escorted to our property by a friendly and informative staff member. On entering the property it definitely had the wow factor with a lovely hamper of goodies i.e Prosecco, chocs, eggs, tea & coffee. A very spacious lodge with comfy beds and luxury bed linen. We even had bath robes which came in handy for when exiting the gorgeous spa, which was situated on the private terracegarden. We made use of our private half hour session at the onsite indoor pool, which was wonderful! We also had Sunday lunch at the on site which was really tasty. The weather wasnt great but did not hinder our lovely chilled time here and will most certainly return.

Other than the hot water in the bathroom of oak lodge being tepid everything was amazing and we want to book again
Christine
I'm very happy
We were delighted to find the lodge larger than expected, with a huge garden and spacious rooms. Staff were brilliant, rules and instructions all very clear and we likes the security, the private pool, Booking system, the hotel tub, the fabulous towels and robes, the kitchen equipment, quality beds and bedding the list is endless. Were glad to have a last minute booking price too. We had a great stay and are already considering another booking with some quiet and well behaved! friends. Rutland Water is packed with activities too.
This holiday was marked ten out of ten by all of us. The staff, cabin, pool, hot tub everything was perfect. Nice cafe on site too. We're already looking to book again. Such a lovely area to explore.
Brilliant lodge, top class fixtures and fittings. Nice touch of welcome provisions. Gated lodge site, so felt safe and secure. What can I say about the hot tub, fantastic. All staff very friendly. Thank you Rutland Caravan and Camping.
Excellent lodge and great location. The lodge was modern, clean, spacious and fully equipped. The hot tub was great. We had a lovely week and enjoyable stay.
Charlotte
We had an issue with the booking system as we originally only wanted a one night stay , after payment we was informed we would need to ammend the booking to two nights or another date that could also be two nights . However, in time this was rectified . Our stay at the lodge itself was warmly welcoming, it was lovely . The lodge and park was clean and welcoming and lodge facilities were great , staff I have seen were very friendly and overall it exceeding expectations. I am sure that we will return to the park.
Everything about the lodge was amazing and perfect, we loved our stay Rooms were a good size and very nicely decorated, very homely. The curtains were blackout which was great because we liked sleeping in Wifi was good and netflix and prime on tv both worked well, no lagging or breaking Having a range of utensils in the kitchen was especially good as we cooked and baked cakes while we were there and had a lot of space and all the right baking stuff to do so It would have been nice to have disposable slippers as getting out of the hot tub woth wet feet i almost slipped a couple of times and the floor is very cold when you get out
Beautiful lodge with all of the home comforts you could possibly need and more. The hot tub was lovely and robes being provided were a thoughtful touch. We've already booked to come back and stay again.
A fabulous log cabin tastefully furnished to a very high standard with all the facilities you could wish for. Will definitely go back.
The lodge was very welcoming, children loved seeing the Christmas lights on. Few issues we had which Im sure can be rectified underfloor heating had a mind of its own, was on through the night and off during the day. Lodge needs a clothing rack to dry clothes. Information booklet needed with details of wifi password, where to throw bin and any other information. The glass on the tables need to be glued down or removed as my daughter who was playing with her toys on the table with the glass constantly moving, the worry of it falling or her falling on the corner constantly had me worried. Also, the leaking guttering was a nightmare, was leaking throughout the stay. Breakfast bar stools needed for breakfast area. The lodge itself is perfect for a family with ample space inside and outside. The lodge had a sense of calmness and would recommend to any other family.
Samanta
Amazing place, very clean, good facilities. We couldnt find the Wifi password, but not a big deal. Would definitely recommend to friends and family!!
Had a fantastic 7 days in Oak Lodge. We was only the 2nd people to stay in it and it was perfect, quality was certainly not skimped on, everything was top notch, fantastic hot tub, couldn't fault a thing other than a couple of items that were listed in sykes were not there, dvd player and radio, also a couple of breakfast stools that the one next to us had but we didn't, reported a couple of times and said was ordered but still did not arrive in the time we was there But other than that highly recommend, especially for a summer holiday as hugh garden area with all you could want
We were the first occupants of Oak Lodge, its one of two 3 bed cabins, everything inside was of the highest order from the kitchen appliances to the heating system. The lodges are in a gated complex so very secure. Theres a lovely walk into Greetham from the site which has two pubs, we only visited the Plough again which wed recommend, the food is excellent and good value and there is a good selection of beers. The owner and the staff are always on hand if any problems occur. All in all an excellent find.
