About Oak Lodge

Oak Lodge is a single-storey wooden lodge on the outskirts of Greetham village in Rutland, reached along quiet country roads. It sleeps six and has underfloor heating throughout, making it a comfortable base for a small family or group of friends exploring England's smallest county.

Inside, the open-plan living space brings together a well-equipped kitchen, dining table and seating area. The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and there are two TVs, a DVD player and WiFi. Fuel and power, bed linen and towels are all included.

There are three bedrooms: a king-size with its own TV and en-suite shower room, a second king-size, and a twin with patio doors that open onto the garden. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over. The lodge is all on one level, and ramps are available on request for the small step at each doorway.

Outside, the enclosed garden has a private hot tub, outdoor furniture, a barbecue and sun loungers, and there is off-road parking for one car. Guests can also book half hour slots in the heated indoor swimming pool on the park, up to a week ahead and subject to availability.

Greetham has two pubs, a village shop and Greetham Valley Golf Club. Oakham, with its 12th century castle, shops, restaurants and bars, is 7.1 miles away, and Rutland Water is close by for watersports, birdwatching, fishing and cycling. The Georgian stone town of Stamford is also easy to reach. Please note there are no pets or smoking, and the lodge cannot accept a Saturday or Sunday check-in.

Very nice spaceous accommodation in a quiet location accurately described on website. Our party of 6 adults were comfortably accommodated Enjoyed hot tub & bbq. 15 min walk through woods to village & pub 2 pubs & a shop, but 1 pub & shop were closed shop being renovated Sept 26.

Beautiful clean and comfortable accommodation very well equipped with everything we needed. Welcome pack was a nice little surprise. Garden and hot tub were great as was use of swimming pool

Returning guest. Have previously stayed in Willow so was expecting as a minimum similar standard if not better. However left slightly disappointed with certain aspects as listed below basins in bathrooms way to small. Barely useable especially for a 6 person lodge. no handwash in any of the bathrooms barrel sauna would be good like some of the other properties on site sofa bed in living room needed to be clean. In poor state of cleanliness and therefore not useable. check out time is too early and causes significant inconvenience

Another fantastic stay, we all fought over the hot tub. the kids loved it. the swimming was great we booked for every day. the lodge had a new BBQ which was great as the week we were there was boiling hot. everything you could need to make your stay comfortable is there. we loved it again !

We 4 cousins were delighted to be greeted with a lovely Christmas tree and decorations and hot tub, 2 who were brave enough to use it. It was lovely to have plenty of space to store out belongings. We all thought the beds were very comfortable. Thank you to the warden who pointed out I had left my car window slightly open, thankfully, the seat didn't get too wet. Second time we have stayed here and absolutely love it. One disappointing thing was that on our last night the hot tub had an error and it was too cold to use. Only other issue was that the small shower head in the main bathroom was full of limescale so water flow and temperature were both negatively affected.

Lovely spacious lodge as described on the website. The whole site is well maintained, staff very friendly and each lodge is private. The swimming pool an added bonus. The village is only a short walk away and plenty of places to visit nearby.

Our stay in Oak Lodge was great. The Lodge itself was done to a high standard in comfort and well stocked facilities. The beds were very comfortable and the quality of bedding and towels supplied was like hotel luxury. The on site staff were friendly and helpful with all queries. The hot tub was lush and maintained with daily checks. Booking the swimming pool for an included session, was straight forward and enjoyable. The on site cafe is good. We did take away dinners in the evening. It was a great base to explore the surrounding area. We gravitated to Rutland water most days. To enjoy the views more, we felt that the lodge windows would benefit from a regular clean. Occasionally late at night the noise from the campers can be heard but we felt that mostly Oak lodge was very peaceful and a lovely spot to unwind and relax. We would definitely return!

Fantastic lodge, really enjoyed by 3 adults and 3 children. everything was spotless the facilities were superb. loved the swimming and the hot tub, we will come back if possible.

Everything perfect and cabin spotless, the only niggle was that you only get half an hour in the pool free for the whole week. Thereafter it is 16 per half an hour slot, this is not mentioned in the listing and quite honestly think this is a ripoff.

This was my four year in a row of staying here. Just love this place and works out so well. 2 hr drive from London. Quiet and secure compound but lovely country walking areas. 15 mins from Rutland Water where all the activities are. It works well for me and mu family plus extended family when we just wanna have a big family get together and end up taking the two large log cabins as we've done last two years

The lodge is set in a great location behind the electric gates so felt very safe and secure. The beds were very comfortable and all the lining and towels were immaculate. Unfortunately the place needs some attention!!!! The hot tub was shocking in my opinion as a hot tub owner. The cover was rotten and water logged. Being so heavy both cover brackets had broken and needed 2 people to lift the cover off. The water had not been changed for a while and was very cloudy and smelt. The freezer door had not been shut properly for days so it was completely iced up and unusable. broken blinds in the kitchen and every joint on the guttering outside dripped after 15 mins of rain for days. We booked the communal swimming pool on site for half hour which was about 5 foot deep all over. The water was so cloudy we could not see the bottom so decided not to risk any infections and didnt go in. Lots of good points but not good value for mone

A beautiful and quiet location with only a short walk through the woods into the village and to the Plough Pub!! We loved the use of the onsite swimming pool and cafe. Second year running at this property to celebrate a birthday and will probably be booking again for next year as lodge meets our requirements to a tee, especially the hot tub on chilly nights with a warm and welcoming lodge to retreat to. Note that the village shop has now closed. The Plough pub is great though, as is the onsite Kitchen.

It was a lovely place for us to Spend new years with friends with all modern ovens and microwaves ! The hot tub was perfect size for the 6 of us and we had a great time ! Only downside I would say are the sofas arent that comfortable as they are sofa beds so the cushions slide forwards whilst sitting on them!

Large modern lodge, with comfortable rooms, excellently fitted kitchen and friendly on site staff. Slightly awkward to find, but as a consequence is safe and quiet. Large secluded garden with hot tub and front has plenty of parking for cars. Excellent place for visiting Rutland. On the list for a return visit.

My only two points of feedback are it was tough to operate the heating system. We didn't expect 1st week of Aug 2023 to be so wet and rainy, so needed to get them on and could only manage the hallway. We didn't report it and managed it in the end. The ensutie WC toilet seat was the wrong one fitted. A Dshape seat was fitted on to a round WC pan. Wasn't ideal but again, wasn't the end of the world and we managed.

The lodge was brilliant great space and had everything we needed for 5 ladies. A great site clean and secure. The lodge was lovely and warm as we arrived on a snowy weekend. We will definitely be back.

The whole family were most impressed with all aspects of the site and accommodation from initial enquiries before our visit right through to checkout. The lodge was extremely well equipped, nice and warm in the chilly weather, as well as being comfortable and homely The hot tub was brilliant even though a bit cosy for 6 adults. The onsite Rutland Kitchen was very well received with a very good menu and reasonably priced. All in all we had a most enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to book again or recommend to friends.

Property was everything we could of wished for. Clean, comfortable had everything we needed. Hot tub was great and was checked each day by staff. Very quiet and private would highly recommend.

We had an excellent, chilled and relaxing week at Oak Lodge. We were greeted warmly on arrival and escorted to our property by a friendly and informative staff member. On entering the property it definitely had the wow factor with a lovely hamper of goodies i.e Prosecco, chocs, eggs, tea & coffee. A very spacious lodge with comfy beds and luxury bed linen. We even had bath robes which came in handy for when exiting the gorgeous spa, which was situated on the private terracegarden. We made use of our private half hour session at the onsite indoor pool, which was wonderful! We also had Sunday lunch at the on site which was really tasty. The weather wasnt great but did not hinder our lovely chilled time here and will most certainly return.

We were delighted to find the lodge larger than expected, with a huge garden and spacious rooms. Staff were brilliant, rules and instructions all very clear and we likes the security, the private pool, Booking system, the hotel tub, the fabulous towels and robes, the kitchen equipment, quality beds and bedding the list is endless. Were glad to have a last minute booking price too. We had a great stay and are already considering another booking with some quiet and well behaved! friends. Rutland Water is packed with activities too.

This holiday was marked ten out of ten by all of us. The staff, cabin, pool, hot tub everything was perfect. Nice cafe on site too. We're already looking to book again. Such a lovely area to explore.

We had an issue with the booking system as we originally only wanted a one night stay , after payment we was informed we would need to ammend the booking to two nights or another date that could also be two nights . However, in time this was rectified . Our stay at the lodge itself was warmly welcoming, it was lovely . The lodge and park was clean and welcoming and lodge facilities were great , staff I have seen were very friendly and overall it exceeding expectations. I am sure that we will return to the park.
