Lillie's Shepherds Hut Reviews

Bed sheets very very old, bottom sheet would just come off because it was old and out stretched, we had the park the car about 5 min from the site and walk up with bags. Very nice looking but a little dirty plastic blue utensils sucky and had a lot of dust on. Out side there was a hut you could sit in but the seats was coved in dog heat and the bar area was messy and dirty. Stopped two nights out of the 3 we booked we also had a man putting down wood chips out side why staying in the hut. Not very private and professional doing work why the accommodation has vacant. Would I be happy to recommend this place, yes I would love to recommend this. I believe this place would be beautiful in the summer.

Beyond expectations. Everything we could want and more. Lillie's hut was well maintained and clean. Chris the owner was friendly and attentive and the dogs Lillie and herbie were friendly and cute. The ducks were great and provided lots of entertainment. Can't recommend this site enough. Loved it
Great stay at Lillie's, amazing location with a great outdoor space. Although there are other huts on the property, the location still feels very private right next to the pond which was great. Chris was a great host too. Would fully recommend.
Both Chris and Helen were fantastic througout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble....both professional and friendly. Lillie's hut has fantastic views from the log burner hot tub, the hut itself had everything we needed with extra small touches like the lights in the ceiling above the bed, making it feel like the stars, would recommend to any couple wanting a relaxing few days away.

Enjoyed our short stay at Lillies hut perfect outside living, being of a certain age found the sleeping area a little challenging but having said that would book again for a short break so peaceful you can see a lot of work has gone into the layout of the site so each hut has is own privacy. Chris the owner was always on hand if needed.
Great location and just a 25 minute walk to the pub. There are no taxis around so if you like a drink you will have to walk. A lovely little retail park and castle just a 10 minute drive away and then a pub which serves amazing food a further 5 minutes down the road called the chequers inn. If you like wildlife, comfort and relaxation then its the perfect stay. We shall definitely return in the future!

I stayed for 2 nights and wish I had booked for longer! This is the perfect place to get away and relax! The accommodation is cozy and cute and clear a lot of time and attention has gone into them and the surrounding land is lovely. Chris and Helen are both lovely, welcoming and helpful. Was a lovely little getaway in the countryside with a seriously comfy bed! Was so nice to wake up to an amazimg view with plenty of wildlife, then go to bed after a night looking up at the most stars we've seen in a very long time. Thanks for being a great host, and for all the great suggestions of places to visit. We can highly recommended The Thatch in Bottesford for Tapas.

We had a fabulous stay at Lillies Hut within Shepherdss Lodge. Our hosts were fantastic with any questions we had. The hut is extremely comfortable, and clean. All amenities were there should you wish to cook a breakfast, lunch or dinner. But if you prefer, pubs are close by although the use of a car would be preferable due to the lack of lighting on country lanes at night. Ideal pubs for drinks and dinners are The Chequers Inn, The Windmill and The Duck at Woolsthorpe. The bed is comfortable, and the toilet and shower up in the hotel standards. There is no WiFi, but you dont need it and there is a lack of reception on your network if youre on Three. We struggled with this when we wanted to order more firewood, so we gave our hosts cash. The hot tub was presented to us clean, and the host will help to bring it to temperature if required. Outdoors lighting is perfect for when you are in it and you have drinks holders on the outside of it. Will will visit again soon! Ideal getaway if youre looking for a few days of R&R. 10 out of 10.

The perfect getaway for you and your other half if you are looking for somewhere secluded, peaceful and relaxing. Property is located about a mile off the main road, so if you are someone who is worried about driving down long narrow country roads then this holiday is just for you! The property itself is beautiful, located around the edge of a small body of water with a homely feel inside the huts. The wood fire hot tub was incredible and as per recommendations, make sure you get it going well in advance of you getting in 2 hours. If you are worried about operating anything inside or outside of the Hut, the owners have made a very detailed booklet to help, along with many recommendations on local places to eat! We met the owners on the 2nd day after running low on fire wood, with Chris going out of his way to find a hairdryer for my girlfriend, adding a personal touch! Would recommend!

We had the most amazing time staying in Lillies hut. Its the perfect getaway for 2. The hut had everything you could want and is beautifully presented. It offers the best cosy winter feeling. There are some really lovely finishing touches throughout the hut which make it extra special. We were well looked after by the owner who is full of helpful advice about the local area. We will be coming back for sure.
Went with partner for his birthday and really had a great time! Very tranquil and peaceful place with a lovely local area! We came down on train and biked from bottesford trainstation easily had no problems getting around! Never had any issues whilst staying there but Chris was a really helpful and friendly host! Would 100 recommend for a relaxing weekend away!

Amazing 2 days away! Lovely little hut Lillies Hut. Very peaceful. Nice 20 minutehalf hour walk to the shop or pub that serves food. Chris the owner was very accommodating and helpfull, helping us get the hot tub fire going. Would highly recommen and would definitely like to go back.
We had an amazing time, it was so relaxing, the wood fired hot tub was a bonus. We would highly recommend this place if you want a peaceful get away. An absolutely amazing break .. everything very clean and every thing there that was needed and much more.. even orange juice milk little things that made it special bed so comfy Chris was amazing when he came out saw my partner doing hot tub fire Chris said go for our walk hed sort it .it was really hot when we came back so clean. the shower so powerful an hot too .. so enjoyable .. Chris talks about the huts and the lake and wild life with such a passion and so much love ..my partner loved it there to as I got it as a 60th birthday surprise ..I cant recommend it enough so cosy and romantic the walks and country side is amazing just beautiful ...thank you also Chris and Helen for the Prosecco as well as coming over every time we needed logs

A very comfortable stay with such a beautiful setting. Its clear that a lot of time, effort and love has gone into these huts. We had a fantastic two night break and despite the mud English autumn! we enjoyed it immensely. Wellies are a must, but this is one of the cosiest breaks we have for a long time. Cannot recommend enough.

We stayed for our 1st wedding anniversary and we were over the moon with the cabin. Beautiful to look at and very comfortable. Only thing that would have been better is some chairs around the fire pit. But besides that. 1010
The whole experience was extremely relaxing and enjoyable with great service provided by the hosts. The only down side was getting the hot tub started but that was soon resolved. For us the roaming dogs were a pleasant surprise, however it might be ideal to have a warning on the website as someone might be allergic or be afraid of dogs. Other than that we would definitely recommend this place and will be returning in the future.
